Welcome to another edition
Another week just crossed off the map, as we all look forward to that “early break”. I was home on the weekend and speaking too many of the farmers in the district they are sick and tired of carting water.

Pete sees the funny side
Local shearing gun Peter “Pete” Newall is always good for a comment or two and he didn’t let the punters down when he purchased the drinker at the Marnoo Bushfire appeal auction. “You need anything you get hold of when it comes to carting water” he said referring to the 5 litres the drinker holds.........

Getting out of bed is a problem
I was having a beer with funnyman Stewart “Smacka” MacPherson and Dwain “Daryl” Duxson in the corner shop on Sunday when Duxson complained that he can hardly get out of bed with stiffness after a hard days cricket the day before. As quick as a flash Smacka said “I also have trouble getting out of bed on a Sunday and my body is fine”

I’ll grant you that one
Trusted Navy Blues money counter and leading Marnoo West farmer Mark “Pest” Raggatt was assigned to the job of picking up the grant money the group had obtained from the shire offices at the Town Hall last week. However “The Pest” got his Town Halls mixed up and spent quite a bit of time consuming in the pub named after the town landmark.

Bluey never to join Facebook
Myself and a couple of other natives were chatting away about Facebook last weekend whilst consuming a few when one such patron asked Leigh “Blue Can” Foster if he was on Facebook. “Not me” he replied “that internet has got me into enough trouble already.................”

Croppers, get it in according to Muzza
Callawadda stalwart Murray “Muzza” McGregor has warned farmers to get the crop in before Easter this year as he is tipping a wet Autumn and Winter. “If you haven’t got it in by Easter you may be in trouble” he said with authority. Let’s hope the big fella is somewhere around the mark!!!

Meeting royalty
The sleepy township of Callawadda can now boast the hand of royalty as leading Pollie Kevin “Yes Minister” Erwin met the Princess up in the fire ravaged hills the other day. I’m sure she is better for the experience...............

Big day out
The Bushfire appeal was a big event with many a native turning out, I’m not sure what was raised but I am sure that many families will benefit. Well done to the organising committee and extra well done to all that turned up and made it a spectacular event.

Loading the photos
If you are on the Facebook site you will see that I have developed two photo albums, one has all of Marnoo’s landmarks which have been described as “Marnoo’s Assets”. The other is photos of all my favourite characters including all of the Hall of Fame members.

End of message
