This is a very quiet time for a struggling little reporter from the banks of Lake Mulwala, as most people are fully occupied on tractors. I’m told that it is all going in really well and we can only look forward to a bumper season for all.

I am an avid ABC listener and tune in to ABC Riverina up here. I feel as though I am almost home as Graeme Ellen does the grain report and Chris Webb does the weather. It would be great if they could find a “Jack” Cameron to do the political report!!

Look out now at the Royal, I managed to find a little bit I had stashed away to sponsor a couple of “Baggy Greens”. I recon one could go to the highest net score of the day and the other to anyone who got a hundred. I will leave that up to the captain but they should be there in a couple of weeks.

SLF favourite Stewart “Smacka” MacPherson is in red hot form on the course shooting a 73 off the stick, it is strongly rumoured that he will also reach country golfing immortality, single figures.

The head honchos at the Royal are eagerly licking there lips as Legacy day draws closer, I told that another big day is expected and if reports are right this potentially could be one of the biggest.

I managed to get to the local footy last Sunday as my team took on Corowa/Rutherglen. One person I didn’t see at the game was everyone’s mate Graeme “Old Maaaaate” McNolty. If he had of been there I would have seen him as I scanned the perimeter of the ground many a time looking for that unmistakable figure, but nothing. I’m guessing he would have been partaking in his new found passion, gardening.

Everyone is laughing at my team the Tigers and rightly so at 8 zip, but I’m tipping that followers of clubs who play the Tigers would be feeling a tad worried, nobody wants to be the first to lose to them!

Former Callawadda native Sandy “The Know All” McGregor is enjoying a good run with his jumper Some Are Bent, he has won two $100,000 race in the last three weeks and is now rated the best hurdler in the country. He tells me he needs the money.
