Another week passes by.
Someone said to me last week “I was going to do so many things in January and all of a sudden it just went”. How time flies.

Facebook changes
For those followers on Facebook we had to change the group profile and to do that we had to delete all of our friends, but we started back up again under a different profile which suits us better. If you’re not on Facebook then I suggest you join up as we deliver a comment every day and we have some great photos!!!

Rabbit stew
My spies were in top form last week and this story is a beauty. Anne and Harry Bryce were having trouble with the heat like all of us and it was this particular hot night that Harry had had enough and went to the couch to try and get some comfort. He opened the door thinking there might be a breeze. The family dog then saw an opportunity (as dogs do) and decided to take a nap with Annie on the bed. It wasn’t until Annie woke up in the morning that she discovered that the dog had been devouring a rabbit on the bed with blood and guts everywhere.

Loss of a couple of native
Last week we lost two natives. Ag Neville and Bobby “Ha Ha” Mercer both passed away. Both were unique characters, Ag would know every dam in the district as he had a passion for yabbying and he also didn’t mind a long neck or 5. Local historian John “Jack” Cameron said that Aggie was a very determined batsmen who was always hard to get out. Bobby was a tall lean character with a big laugh and a wicked slice at golf, he also had a passion for orchards of all things. RIP lads.

Bushfire appeal.
Marnoo and district is doing their bit for the bushfire victims by holding a family day at the MCG. It will be on Sunday the 1st of March and will start at 2pm and go through to 8pm. There will be activities and Dion Griffen will sing from 5 onwards. 6pm for a bbq dinner at $15 per family and $5 a single. BYO drinks and bring a salad or sweet. Also don’t forget to bring a pocket full of cash.......

Herbie in tsunami warning
Local consumer Armand “Herbie” Duxson and his lovely sidekick Marcia would have felt a little uneasy when they heard a tsunami warning for Indonesia last week. I’m not sure of the outcome but some cheeky native mentioned that the big fella may have been the cause of such a warning.

Cricketers mauled
Consistency is not a word you would tag the MCC with, as they went down to arch rivals Rich Avon/Services. They are either hot or cold but the main thing is that they enjoy it. Spotted late at night in the corner shop were Captain Gary “Larry” Cameron and President Stewart “Smacka” MacPherson, these two “moths” would have be planning for next weeks game.

End of message
