Another week
This week this column is only available online as the editor of the printed version is on holidays, so this week we can have a bit of a laugh at those people that don’t use online as a daily tool. I for one am a big online user and supporter but I guess it’s each to their own and some people are very happy without online. But anyway to you the ONLINE reader welcome, you are getting something that others are missing out on, for this week at least.

RSS feed
No it’s not a new brand of stockfeed that Harberger’s have got in or it’s not a new wheat variety. It’s a feature that you can subscribe to so that you get your SLF when it first lands on the web. Simply click on the RSS icon at the top menu bar of the blog and use RSS feed, you won’t have to keep looking on the blog to get you latest fix of the SLF, it will come to you. At least I think it will!!!

Another quote from Jack
SLF favourite John “Jack” Cameron was in peak form the other night at the corner shop, especially when we got talking about pubs and pub owners. Leading publican Leigh “Can you print this off and put on the notice board” Foster was talking about the pending sale of the Minyip pub and that the current owner has been in pubs for 35 years and said she hasn’t made much money out of them. Jack heard this and said “I’ve been in pubs myself for 35 years as well and I haven’t made any money out of them either”. Priceless.

41 in the water bag
After a couple of hot days last week the first half of this week is supposed to be a scorcher as well. Spare a little sympathetic thought (alright that will do) for potential SLF Hall of Fame members Stewart “Smacka” MacPherson and Armand “Herbie” Duxson who were attending Bendigo Country Week this week. Now playing in these conditions day after day is a young man’s pursuit and these guys aren’t young in cricketing terms these days. They also hinted that they were going hit the town on Sunday night. I’m not tipping and splendid performances from this due on Monday at least.

SLF Hall of fame
We have been going for a while now and it’s time to reward the newsmakers, the people who create the news so that this little publication can go to air. Look out in the next couple of weeks for more on the SLF Hall of Fame.
