Another week flies past
It’s been another quick week with all the spring racing festivities. I’m told locally the headers are starting to emerge from sheds and with a fine week or so forecast we can expect some bragging rights from the native that strips the highest yielding crop. All the best.
Spring is in the air
Spring is definitely in the air when the horses are running around at Flemington. Many a local I spotted at the cup in what was another top day out. Armand “Big Herbie” Duxson and Gary “Larry” Cameron make a formidable duo and managed to make their presence felt (as predicted) pre, during and post cup. The in form team entertained the masses including this little struggling journo for a large chunk of the day.
Thank you sir
I’m told there was a little party put on by SLF favourite John “Be My” Guest (thanks for the invite) last weekend. The guest list was exclusive as I’m told that living legends like Bruce “Boofhead” Hendy and Norm “Guru” Duxson were present, it was the latter of the fore mentioned duo who stole the limelight on the night. Our most famous Wallaloo East grazier was asked by a fine looking young lady if he could twist the top off her stubbie of beer. It was then that the Guru pulled a well used and dirty handkerchief from his very deep pocket and managed to open the cool beverage much to the bemusement of the striking young lady. After that she somehow found the strength to open her own stubbies.
Slow news week
It’s been a slow news week and I have to run to an appointment so that is all for this issue and I look forward to next week.
Cheers for now
