Welcome to another edition of the SLF, I have to let the world know that my cricket team is in the grand final this weekend. It will be a big game and both sides are pretty even. I will let you know the details in the next edition.

Speaking of the world, the SLF is now on the web, yes we have our own blog site, you can now tell your friends and family to log on to http://thesquarelegfiles.blogspot.com .
A blog is simply a website created by an individual to speak to the world, it will be updated every Monday morning.

Another great bit of technology I found was Jajah, it is another internet phone but this one actually work through you phone, simply go to www.jajah.com , register and save heaps on your phone call.

I’m told that “Smacka” (Stuart MacPherson) had a very big night on Saturday night, he ended up in Stawell and eventually got back to his parents place where he woke up in the nude, (now that is not so strange) but for some reason he couldn’t find his clothes. He later found them on the front lawn, lucky Joan wasn’t home.

Smacka and “Winebar” (Nigel Slee) will form a formidable duo at the field days this week as they turn themselves into Wharoonga salesman, It would be hard to take them seriously wouldn’t it!!

“Big Herbie” (Armand Duxson) has struck trouble in Africa according to a text. It goes like this: “Booze cruz down the Zambezi River bottle of rum & beers hit dance floor done knee”. One earlier one came in saying: “Bunge jump at Vic falls, rope actually strong enough”. Sounds like the big fella is living up to his reputation

The cricketers ended the season falling 15 runs short at Wyche but made up for it at the St Arnaud hotel where local “Junior” Trevor Picthall led the way.

Speaking of St Arnaud, new St Arnaudite “The Major” (Damian Drum) has purchased a half share in the Landmark business he has been working at for the last couple of years.

The “Steak at the lake” was a pretty good event but no stories were forthcoming. I bet there was some reminiscing about the olden days when the lake was the place to be over the summer period. I’m told blokes like “The Pest” (Mark Raggatt) and Downtube” (Peter Newall) used to get up to a fair share of mischief at the lake.

They tell me new cricketer Brendan Pateman can not only bowl but is more than handy with the bat, I’m sure he will be top on the shopping list for next season.

Enough from me
