Hello and welcome to another edition of the SLF. Rain, we need rain, I was in the district last week and boy have things dried off from the last time I visited. Let’s hope a few of the experts are right in saying that something is coming later on in the week.
If we manage to get a good break there will be a bit of action around, no more so than down at Linden. Legend grazier “Guru Norm” (Norm Duxson) likes to have the oats in by Anzac Day and he will be pulling out all stops to make it happen. The action will stop though when it comes to the spraying as number one son will still be gallivanting around Africa. He tells me that the spraying is off limits until he gets back which will suit the “Guru” just fine.
Remember when “Big Herbie” (Armand Duxson) went to Arnhem Land, well after a few pigs ears he kept referring to it as Armand Land, one witty patron piped up and said “just how much land have you Duxson’s got”
A couple of youngish Wallaloo golfers took off to Horsham on the weekend for a bit of pre season, they also updated their big bangers (1 wood) at the same time. One “Smacka MacPherson” (Stewart MacPherson) opted for an extra stiff shaft.
“The Bear” (Ben Duxson) was the other one to purchase a big stick but it certainly didn’t gel with him straight away as he failed to make the ladies tee on the second in what is commonly known as a “fanny”.
I’m told that “Fayze” (Fay Cameron) was interviewed on the National Nine News on Saturday afternoon in relation to the drought concert at Horsham. Apparently she held up really well. It’s a pity they couldn’t of interviewed husband “Jack” (John Cameron) as well, he could tell the nation a thing or two about droughts.
I’m told the tennis grand final was on Saturday and Wallaloo was competing in its 457th grand final. Talking to “3/8 Rod” (Rod Reading) on Thursday night and he was quietly confident of a victory. I’m also told that 3/8 is to/or has turned 50, well done and it’s a good effort to be still chasing the furry ones around in your 50th year on the planet. I’m sure that he would have performed both on and off the court on the weekend.
A couple of predictions for the 2007 year, the muddy will run (I said that last year) and we will get 25 inches of rain at Pissdown Park for the year. The golf, if I say that someone will beat “Golfing Greg” (Greg Reading) in the championship this season, then that will spur him on to win at all cost, so I will make it easy and say he will win it anyway (now I’m confused) “The Farmer” (Brian Healy) will unearth a future champion during 2007, that’s if he doesn’t sell it first.
Also hearty congratulations to former Natives John and Joy Nisbet on their 30th wedding anniversary last Monday. That’s a big effort “Jumpfu”.
Don’t forget to pass on the SLF blog site to your friends and family, they can read it from anywhere in the world, simply go to http://thesquarelegfiles.blogspot.com
Enough from me
