Another week

Another week just belts on by as we enter what I consider to be the best part of the year, Autumn. It especially good up this way as the bite goes out of the sun and the wind seems to drop off.  I’m sure I remember it being to same out at the Kanya Hills.

Sowing the oats

I’m tipping that leading farmer Brian “Farmer” Healy would be getting itchy feet with a bit of rain around, I’m positive that he would be considering starting his sowing program. But one thing is probably holding him back and it’s probably a very important thing, his new air seeder hasn’t arrived yet.

Good job for Jack

Our number one Bathrust Burr cutter (BBC) John “Jack” Cameron would need the army if he was to control the Bathurst Burr up this way. The rain has certainly sprung them into gear but even more prevalent up this way is bindi-eye, it’s everywhere but I’m not sure if that is in Jacks job description!!!!

Big event

This coming weekend is set to be a big one, my fellow Yarrawonga mate Dwain “Daryl” Duxson celebrates his 40th birthday. A few Natives are heading up for the event, which is set to go over 2 days. There will be plenty of characters in attendance, which should provide plenty of fodder for this little publication.

Golfer warm up

The golf season is getting closer and its with great anticipation that we welcome the new season in. They have already started the customary pre season working bees which help bring the revered Royal course up to it’s absolute best. I love it myself for two reasons, I get to go back and play from time to time and the shenanigans the members get up to provide plenty of script for this little column. Bring it on……….

Will see you next week
