Hello and welcome to this weeks SLF, I have been a little slack in delivering the “files” whilst OS, so I hope not to much damage is done.

The trip
My trip to South American countries Chile, Uruguay and Argentina was fantastic to say the least. The majority of people in these countries live very simple lives and they seem to be very happy. It seems to me to be a great way to live, much less confusing than the type of life we seem to live here in Australia. It’s not that I’m defecting to Chile or anything like that I’m just saying we can learn a thing or two about how they go about it.

Long flight
Going away is great but retuning home as even better, but you do have to make some sacrifices and one of those is long plane trips. It was 30 hours by the time we left BA until we arrived in Melbourne and that included four different planes. But we cannot complain as in the old days the ships would have taken 3 months!!

Wally
Sometime Marnoo resident Wally “Wallace” O’Connor is thriving in his role as head sheep shager (classer) for MPM South America. I managed to spend a few days with the big fella and really does have the Spanish down pat.

Cricket over and out
The MCC lads missed out on the finals this year which was disappointing. All was not lost according to my spy with Captain Gary “Larry” Cameron doing a great job. He managed to introduce a lot of youngsters to the team which augers well for the future.

Steak on the lake
Swill on the hill, steak on the lake, its great to see these community events being put on by the supporters group, I would suggest that the community get right behind these event as it’s a great way to catch up with people you don’t see that regularly around the traps.

Jacks back
Its great to hear John “Jack” Cameron is back home after his operation, heres hoping he makes a full recovery so he can get back and do what he does best, entertain the natives.

Wedding of the year
I’m told the Winebar wedding went off really well with MC Ben “Glendemar” Duxson doing a great job. He managed to interview mother of the groom, June but he didn’t get much out of her as she was giggling too much. Can’t imagine that!!!

Golf at the Royal
I see where the working bees have started at the Royal so that is telling me that the golf season is not to far away. Won’t it be great to see the grace of Bruce “Boofhead” Hendy, the power of Stewart “Smacker” MacPherson, the guile of Greg “Golfer” Reading, the putting prowess of Norm “Guru” Duxson and antics of John “Be my” Guest, you would have to be looking forward to that!

This is great! It’s hilariously entertaining even though I only recognize a few names- Michelle Jenkinson.
